Window Assembly Parts

Home Owner from Raleigh, NC
I am trying to replace some parts on my windows, I believe they are called double coiled window assembly's. The windows are double hung Simonton windows from around the year 1999.

Hello, thank you for posting,

We should be able to assist with your repair, but to further review, we will need to see the window sash removed where we can view the pivot shoe that the coil springs attach to. We will also need to know if the coil springs measure a 1/2" or 3/8" thick.

From there we can determine the correct series for your window. I have related some videos on the page for assistance with removing the window sash to expose the pivot shoe. Thank you!

The coil springs look to be 1/2" thick and I've attached images of the pivot shoes and their attachment piece on the coil springs. Attachment piece is 1" tall vs 1 1/4" wide.

Thank you,

It appears that your window uses the 15-111 pivot shoe. Please review the dimensions below to confirm a good fit! If the spring is a 1/2" thick, you would need the Series 160, but before moving forward with this series I recommend removing the springs to double check the measurement as it can be tricky to measure while still installed. I cannot get an accurate read from the image, but we want to make sure it is not the 3/8" thickness instead.

Are there any numbers stamped on the springs? If there are no markings, we will need to know the weight of the window sash to move forward.

For a new pivot bar if needed, start by reviewing the dimensions of the 26-083 or 26-040 pivot bars. Let me know what you think!

Thanks - the pivot shoe looks perfect. As for the coils, they are 3/8" wide, not 1/2". They're also stamped, I've attached that picture. It appears to say 5.0 and 35" and the PAT # is 523208.

For the pivot bar, see attached photo, 26-040 appears correct. Does that come in silver?

Thank you!

For a 3/8" coil spring, you will need the Series 165. If each coil spring is marked with a 5.0, see the S165-5 coil spring. Each coil can support 5 pounds of weight. If there are two coils on each side, this should indicate a 20 pound sash weight. We recommend weighing the sash to confirm this!

For a new cover, see the 15-204 double support.

Unfortunately the 26-040 pivot bar does not come in silver. Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
