Window Balance Replacement

Home Owner from Greenville NC

Hello,

My home is in Eastern NC and built in 2006 with double paned windows containing coil window balances. Almost all windows have some or all portions of the balances damaged. Some are hard to open some do not stay open etc. Id like to simply order entire already assembled left and right balances to fix several windows myself.

A window professional did replace a sash and the balances when he did the sash. The numbers on the balance are 5.345.638 & 5.232.208 the pane weighs roughly 18.2 pounds.

Hi there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We don't sell this pivot shoe, but you could consider the 15-199. You'll just want to make sure the thickness and width match yours.

The 1/2" S160 and 3/8" S165 are the compatible coil springs. I suspect your coil spring band is 1/2" wide, but we recommend you measure it to confirm.

If it's indeed 1/2", you can use two S160-04 4.5-pound springs on each side of the window. Each side will have 9 pounds of support, totaling 18 pounds overall. This should be fine as long as the total weights are within a pound of the sash's actual weight.

For a new coil support, see the 15-150D
