Just purchased a house and noted that the sliding glass door was on the outside track. Have been told that Pella doors are made this way. Would like to install and additional lock . Where and how do you do this.

Can it be used for a 45" (22 1/2" operating/opening width)wide sliding window?

Recently we have had some security issues with entry via sliding patio doors. I am looking for added security latches and other means of providing comfort for my family. Some neighbors have installed J-Hook latches but they are not very attractive. (FYI--the tracks are on the outside so the b ... (cont.)

I live in a condo that the sliding glass doors were put in inside out, so I have no way to put a rod down to keep from opening the doors from the outside. What kind of a second lock should I use to make me feel more secure?
