I purchased the replacement crank, but do no have enough room to turn the screwdriver 90 degrees. Are the any tricks or suggestions to remove the crank without cutting or drilling the wood?

It appears to be 1/2 inch wide 1/2 high. The piece that slides into the track is 1/4 inch.
