The grooves attaching the handle to the crank have been stripped and it will no longer remain seated in the cranking mechanism. So instead of opening the window, turning the handle simply causes the cranking mechanism to come attached from the window. As far as I can tell, the whole mechanis ... (cont.)

Yes the 39-170 bracket goes with the 39-140 operator. No it does not come in white, however it is coated in a kind of grayish beige color that resists corrosion. I do not believe the bracket is very visible, being that it is installed on the bottom of the sash.
