70-048 Malta Screen Frame Latch

Part 70-048 worked well for me on my Malta double-hung windows. This is not the same as the original tan ones. You need to bend them a little to get them to work. It took about three minutes to replace each one. Remove about 2? of spline from the corner, pop that part of the screen and the broke ... (cont.)

The clips are 2 1/4" long. They are plastic. Do you have these?

Can I use pool clips for the multiple windows the ones that get put into the groove of the screen of the frame

These latches are a slightly different shape than the ones on my windows. Mine measure 2 ¾" from the screen frame to the end of the latch where one grips it. Also rather than having two tabs to go into the window channel mine have just one curved tab. Do you have another version or will these fit? ... (cont.)

I too, have Malta window screens on 9 double hung window screens, where tabs broke. I watched video. My question is how to install in existing screen that doesn't need replacing. How do you insert new tab only with removing the whole screen?

Your video shows installing the Malta screen clips requiring the entire screen to be rebuilt. Is there an easier way to do this without having to go through all hat work? I have a number of screens where just one of the clips are broken.

I have to replace 7 windows' worth of of Malta screen latches. the old ones held up for maybe 20 years. How durable are the 70-048s and are they malleable enough or is just personal preference? (Do they work or not? :) ) I don't want to replace them only to find out I'll have to do it again in 10 ... (cont.)

These clips have no name or markings on them.

There are no markings if any type on the corners. The top corners have the slots for the nail
