How to recover mortise that fell into my door?

Replacing old lock with new. I neglected to remove the old lock correctly and it fell down within the doorframe. Any suggestions on how to remove the old lock? Is it a problem if i just leave it in there (old latch is broken)?

82-218 is a little too big for my door

I unfortunately dropped the old lock inside the door frame while removing it, so I am not sure how the old lock looks like. Please help me find the correct lock. I already ordered 82-218 lock but its litter wider and bigger.
