We need to buy 2 handles (right and left) for glass siding door that exits to an outdoor patio area. Hello outside handle engraved Dorwal. Seems to measure 3 1/2" on center (screws). Cracked plastic inside at screw. Door width measures 1 1/2". What part recommended and will I need latch also? Thank you.

Hi I purchased a Patio Door Keeper, 1/2" Wide from Swisco a while back. (89-007) When I installed it, the lock on the door got stuck on the keeper. I could not move the lock to open the door. See the pictures. It's a patio handle kit with latches (and no keys). I believe it's your kit numbered #82-003 based on the dimensions. The part-numbers are all labeled #055-X (where X = 2, 3, 5), but #82-055 doesn't seem like the best match. Older model maybe? The vertical distance between the s ... (cont.)

Acorn dor/wall Screws for inside handle are 3 1/2 inches apart . I was told it is most likely the handle set 82-005 which includes the keeper plate. The lock is a lever, not a key lock. The handle that's broken is 5-1/2" long, 1" wide. It is dark dark brown and is 3-1/2" in between the middle of the two screws that go into the door....

Attached is a photo of the handle in place. The second photo is the broken black plastic hardware that holds the handle.

Here's hoping that this one lone sticker can help identify our sliding door manufacturer so that we can then get parts for it - original to the 35 year old house, but there is only this one sticker to give us a clue. Thanks for any help!

I have an Acorn sliding door and am in need of a handle set. This door may be 40 years old. It has the 3-1/2" c-to-c attachment dimension. But the door is 1-1/2" thick. Will the 82-055 work with longer screws?

Sliding Glass Doors were manufactured by Acorn - Series 400 DorWal. The latch/lock on one door is broken and cannot be repaired. The welds holding the metal screw tubes to the outside latch failed, so it fell off. The inside latch is a replacement from the original latch and never seemed to fit ... (cont.)
