24 INCH balancer stamp A2320

Sliding door appears to have been built in the 80s and does not lock. Would like to replace the locking kit. If possible without having to replace the door.

The part has "30C" stamped on it. It just slid out on its own when I opened the window and then the other side was loose so I pulled it out. One side had a broken string so that was the failure point. I imagine many other windows in the home (it's 25 years old) may fail at some point as well. The wi ... (cont.)

These Springs are 22" Overall X 5/8 Deep X 1/2 Wide They support a 10 lb Window. I would like 6 of them. Thanks Bob

Ian replacing a two point mortise lock in a slider. The holes that go through the door are 5" apart. How do I know which end of the mortise lock goes up? Will it work with either end up?
