I'm uncertain about appropriate terminology, but this is the plastic retainer that holds the top of the stiffener rod in the spring of a double hung window. hello , these channel balances keep making my window difficult to open. They are either hard to lift up, make a LOUD squeaky noise whenever lifted, and/or they do not close straight. I have 4 windows that do this. So a total of 8 balancers would be needed.
