40-049 Complete Mortise Lockset, Brass

The latch is more slanted than curved, whereas the door can lock without having to turn the handle.

I need to replace a handle on a strom door with lock.

What is the mortise width?

Please describe the 6 9/16" installation hole centers for the 40-049. I have an Emtek door latch from a Pella storm door that looks identical to the one shown. However, I can not find any holes that are 6 9/16" apart.

With regard to the inside handle of the 40-049, what is the total depth from the faceplate the flat edge of the handle?

The width of the interior plate of the 40-049 replacement lockset is 7/8", note that the exterior plate is the same width. Take a look at the following picture that shows the interior plate with the width dimension.
