Hello, So I have a part from your company. It does not have a part number just a patent no 3,596,954. When I googled it came up to your company and listed part Number 82-005. So I ordered it. The latch broke on my sliding door handle and I am wondering if you recommend the 82-262 or another model. My guess is that the doors are original to the house, so probably 1958. I am trying to find another handle/lock for my mothers sliding glass door. there is something broken inside of the latch and sometime when she shuts it, it will lock and then she is locked out. I believe I can use your 82-005 and just purchase the interior part. I know yours is a different color and does not have the night lock button you see on mine which is fine as long as it will marry with my door and existing outside handle and lock.

The dimensions of the sliding door handle I need to replace seem a bit hard to find. I can attach pictures. How critical are the dimensions? I want it to work. The box part of my handle is 1"x1" . Most of the ones I find online appear to be 1"x3/4" or 1"x5/8". I have not found 1x1. I get the ... (cont.)

It is marked Canadian Patent No. 919213 Patented 1973 and Pat. No 3.596.954 it is 7 1/4" long and between the screw holes is 5" and there is the lock apparatus comes out of a 1 inch square.
