My windows are about 24 years old, single hung, none stay open, would like to replace with the right block and tackle if possible. Also how do you measure for block and tackle to get the proper size, as these don't have a channel.

polaris single hung(only bottom sash operates). sash weight about 18lbs. coil spring has marking of 6z or z9(not sure of position. aware i will need to cut channel to install as material is very tough.

Hello, we have some Jeld wen windows , series 9980/9980p, h-r20-48x77 / h-r25-44x60 The balancing springs are very noisy and likely need replaced.
