How do you adjust 84-074B? It seems if the 2 mounting screws are tight, then the adjusting screw does nothing. Does this mechanism require loosening the 2 mounting screws while turning the adjusting screw counter-clockwise? Please send me printed directions.

This part is 2 7/8 to 3" long. It broke.

This is a picture of a latch on another window in the home that is not broken. This latch is the part that I need? Also I would like to know how to replace with a new latch ?
