my window doesn't stay up. it has coil balance shoe. The spring has broken. I would like to replace the broken shoe. However I can't remove the sash from window frame by tilt the sash 90 degree. the shoe has no open top. How can I replace the broken show? Thanks

Hello, I bought the S140-13 Quick Tilt Balance thinking it would be a drop in replacement/upgrade for my broken coil balance. We have some older aluminum windows with spiral balance mechanisms . They are sticky and not working well. We have soaked them in solvent. Is there a lubricant you would recommend to reassemble them?

The metal length of my balancer is 28 5/8 inches. The width of the pulley end is closer to 1" 3/32. The stamp on the metal says 28 5 in case you can't read the picture. I sent the picture of the shoe attachment, top attachment as well as the markings on the unit. I think it is a series 350. It is 28 inches long. I would like to buy several of this configuration. We are in Redwoodshores , Redwood City CA.
