For the vertical weather stripping, the channels that it goes in are crushed at one point toward one end to secure the weather stripping in place. I bought 58-182 weatherstrip for the bottom of double hung windows. The track it slides into is closed at both ends. How do I install it?

My careful measurement of the length of the existing lock side gasket is 82". Can you provide this length? Otherwise this seems to fit.

The dark looking weatherstrip is the original and appears to be in a track that is closed at the top and bottom. The other 2 pictures show the track empty and what the top looks like. Bottom is the same. So I am not sure how to slide a new one in unless you have one that is self adhesive. ... (cont.)

My aluminum double french doors have metal rails to insert the weatherstrip but all of the ends on all four sides are closed and impossible to insert t slot.
