How do you install this track cover?

I am about to order your 6' track cover for my aluminum sliding door. My existing track has some dips in it in several places. Installing track cover on bumpy track

What prep would be needed to utilize the track cover on this track? It would easily snap onto the sections that are not damaged but half the track is bumpy like this. Would the areas that are lower need to be built up?
