S170-336 336 Series 170 Coiled Balance Spring

Window balance coil spring for an 11.5 pound vinyl window has broken in two at about the halfway point. The spring is silver in color 0.75 inches in width and looks like it could be an S170. There are barely readable impressions on the tongue of the spring that appear to be 336 with a letter '"J" b ... (cont.)

Both coiled balanced springs on my widow are broken. I believe these are all that need to be replaced. I'm pretty sure that this replacement window was made by Certainteed and is at least 20 years old. Please let me know if you think I should replace all the parts due to their age, or just the sprin ... (cont.)

The parts removed from a 'Certain Teed' window. On the spring where is mounted with a screw is marked 335 and 336. On the "L" shape plastic bracket marked "Certain Teed' Measurements are 1 1/2 X 7/8 for both parts without the spring. Spring width 3/4.

I recently purchased an S170-336 coilspring and a 15-192 pivot shoe, but do not know how to re-install into the window. The video describing how to remove the pivot shoe is not helpful for re-install because the coilspring and pivot shoe combination are longer than my opening.Thanks ... (cont.)

The coiled balance springs on the upper sash of one of my CertainTeed windows needs to be replaced. The number stamped on the spring is 335.
