the coil balance springs for windows broke. The coil has a 5 number. Each balance has two 5 coils. So I assume that the sash has a weight of 10#. Both LH and RH needs to be replaced. The shoes seem to be okay. The pivot for the shoe is a tee shape with 4 holes, 2 1/2" long. The shoe has a patent ... (cont.)

How do you remove a window from its balance? I need to get out on the flat roof to do some repairs. I have one window that is off the balance on the left side.. How do you get it back in place?
