Balance Spring
Would please let me know if this pictures is good for a Channel window balance, Length : 24" Inches , the code is: 23-2 =. Window was instol in 1990 , aluminum . Also I need two Pan American take out clip- plastic( in your site the code should be : 16-023). Thank you

Plastic Cap - Top of window
Hello. I'm looking for the plastic cap shown in one of my pics and missing on the other. I believe this holds the balance? The balance has numbers of "26 4 NJ BS" on it if that helps. Thank you.

Trouble replacing window sash
I ordered replacement channel balances - 19", series 377, 1840 - but have two questions: 1) Is it OK that the replacement is 1/2" longer? Exactly the same otherwise, including the number stamp. 2) How do I get the tabs on the side of both the top and foot pieces in the channel slot for them? ... (cont.)

I have a Spring Balance with stam 30 D S 40 I'm very mechanically inclined and an electrical contractor. It is 31" metal to metal The shoe (bottom) is 1/2" wide about 15/16 - 1" from curve to the front flanf and the front flange is 15/16" also The track is 9/16 to 5/8 Closer to 9/16" widetop sh ... Parts for Pan Am Aluminum window
I have most of the parts identified but the measurements on the bottom shoe are a tiny bit different. I included 4 images. It looks most like the 15-005 but that does not have the split like mine. My channels measure 24 and have 23 - 2 stamped on them. It looks like I need the S377-24 and a few 18-0 ... (cont.)

balance springs need repair
House was built in 1988, came with French non-tilting windows. A couple windows have balance springs (not workinig) that are fully extended (see picture)--of course this does not allow the window to say open without help of a two-by-four underneath it. I moved into an apt. that had a single sash metal window that did not stay open. After a real struggle I was able to remove the window.
