We are located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and are looking for spring balances for wooden single-sash windows (non-tilting) installed in 1954 when the building was constructed. We would need a minimum of three balances (preferably four) for the two windows, since there is only one balance ? i.e., ... (cont.)

Part # 15-040 is not fitting into part # S500-16. Is there an error or do we need a new part? We have called and the gentlemen said these were correct and that he would have to talk with someone regarding this. Please let us know so that we can install the hardware.

I need a spiral balance with a 16" shaft. However the tip is white and the spiral rod hangs out about 1 3/4" to 2". It is a small window, the bottom sash is about 30" x 18" and less than 10 pounds. This is from a C-Alwintite window. One of the sashes is missing both balances, and I cannot tell what the hardware is to be. The frame measures 34" high inside. The sash measures 17.5" high. Greetings: I have a question for you before I attack the problem 'willy-nilly;' as I am not familiar w/ window issues. I have Climate Master windows that were installed about 15 years ago.
