i just purchased a two S900-16 and two s500 12 spiral balance. Will these work for a tilt in window. Also it appears the S900-16 is not the same diameter as my existing balance. Will it still work? The tip on my balancer is grayish white. You sell red and blue and say we should match the tip color...which should I buy?

I am looking to replace both the spiral balance and shoe for a double hung, tilt window. The spiral balance tube is white and measures 16", 3/8" diameter. There is no tip color visible. The shoe measures roughly 1/2"(9/16?) x 1 1/4" x 2". It has a green "button" with a white cam. ... (cont.)

First bracket is stamped 2830. The cylinder bracket measures 16 inches. Sandy

Weight of window is 15.5 lbs. Length of tube is 15.5 in. Diameter of tube is 3/8 in.

I need some series 900 balances 16 & 28 inches. These are for Keller dual pane windows (energy efficient). Would I be better off getting the green tip ones or would the spring action be too strong? Is the red tip ok?

The spirals do need to be charged when you install them. You will need to give the spiral balances about three turns before locking them in the pivot shoes.
