Goes in the bottom of the window. Latch allows window to lock into frame so it can go up and down. There are no identifying marks, names, or numbers on it. The one we currently have is metal. It is 2" long x 3/4" wide.

Need replacement of the broken part shown on the left. The right one is ok. This is for a vinly crystal window, single hung window. Approx 3 years old. I am not sure the part name, but the window is unable to stay in the up position with the broken part. Thanks. Chris
