S385-30 30" Series 385 Channel Balance

Could you please help me identify the correct parts based on the stamp on the balance. The stamp is 29 4 BS.L MH I'm not sure why this has 29 on it because when I measured it the measurements were 30' x 1/2 x 5/8 so I'm torn between 29 inch or 30 inch. I need to replace several 30 inch window balances. 5/8" wide, 5/8 " deep. Plastic ends are broken per photos. I believe your 30" series 385 channel balance, prod code S385-30 will work for me. Am I correct? Do you need overall window measurements? Thanks so much for your help. Loleita ... (cont.)

Good morning... would like to order 4 new balances for my windows. I would need: 30" channel length. 1/2" wide. Top clip: 19-005 Bottom clip: 15-004 Size: 29-90 Markings on channel: (29 9 BX CME 1).

I saw another post that recommended a series 385 to replace my channel but the shoe is slightly different so I wanted to confirm. My sash weighs 33 pounds and the length of the channel is 30". I just installed two S385-18 option 1720 sash balances, but the window will not go in. It appears the balance channel is too tall. Now what. 2. I have a 31.5lb window, well I really have 4, all needing new series 385 balances. The 2850 tops out at 32, so I would be maxing it out. I will go with the 2860 for its 32 to 35lb range. I think I have the correct channel balance. I don't know what weight to get. The only numbers I can find stamped are 296 USB..? Also the brand window is a Clearview.I chose the 30inch series 385 channel balance product code S385-30

I am a bit confused by the weight chart... My window weighs 15 pounds on the scale... 2 new channels at 7 + pounds each ? or 15 for each side? Thanks

I mailed a window balance sample and received an automated reply from Mike T. Your package number was 23344. The balance that I sent was numbered 29 4 AX CMC 1 and you advised SWISCO balance #S-385-30 as a replacement part. I also need to replace another balance of the same design that is numbered ... The balance model # S385-30 is the correct model but I ordered the 2910 option and there is not enough support to keep the window up. I am sending pics of the old balance. The back of the old balance is marked " 29 5 CW CMC 10 " I thought that might be the 2910 option but that is not strong ... (cont.)

I have not yet begun to work on my NuAir single hung window bottom sash, which appears to have a broken balance on the left side. I have been studying your videos and guides, and I think I can do it. We need to order a 1 replacement channel balance which has numbers 29 6 HW CMC 11 on it for a non tilt window. Not sure of type to order. It measures 30 in in length and is 1/2 wide. I ordered and received 5/8" Top Sash Guide, Kinco (18-166). I replaced the broken ones as illustrated in the video. However, the balancers continue to force through the guides. Is there a different size guide or what else could you recommend as a solution? Robert

looking at photos ,,, i feel that the "385" series is the best match for my nontilt window....but the markings on the stamp (29 5 HV CMC 2) I assumed the "29" meant,length is "29" inches ....but when i measured the metal frame I got "30 inches"....included are some photos .....hopefully they'll help ... I have a few Kinko windows that seemed to break all at once . I looked through your examples & non look like the top of the balances I have . Can others be substituted ? I purchased some 18-166 Top sash guides from you recently and thought my troubles were over but now am not sure. The window is very difficult to raise and I noticed the balancer on the left side pokes out from under the sash. Had a difficult time closing the window and also removing the sash to ... (cont.)

After 10y in the sun the plastic top and shoes in one of my aluminum windows will not seat properly (end up above the window). I'm unsure why because they look OK and any ideas would be appreciated. I suspect I may need at least the end fittings but I'm unsure which channel balance and end fit ... (cont.)
