The pictures show the lock from my sliding patio door. It's original so it is over 30 years old. There are no identifying names or marks. It does not have a key lock There is a number stamped inside the outside handle = 142-14. The door frame receptacle has the number 940-?(i think it is an 8). ... (cont.)

I have a door with Trimview lock like your 82-262. Need to replace it with a keyed lock. The keyed version of this lock is discontinued. It looks like 82-055K would fit as a replacement. What do you recommend ?

I think the thing that best IDs the door lock is the protruding notched locking "post" that's mounted to the door frame,.... the door has a hole that receives the notched post when in the closed position.
