15-121 Pivot Shoe, 9/16" Thick

I notices three "slots" in the pivot shoe at my house, and the video shows the same. My balance was slotted in the middle one, but at approximately 1:35 of the video, the balance is inserted into the right slot. When do you use one over the other? The film makes no mention of this. ... (cont.)
