Several of these plastic latches to hold my screens in place are broken. They are inserted with rivets. I would like to know if I could replace and if so how? Are there substitutions I could use for the same function?

I have Andersen Windows that may be 30 years old. The interior window is a casement window but there is also an exterior window (similar to a storm window?) that has these little clips that hold it in. Can you tell me how thick the clip is? Or, if I use this clip with a #8 pan head screw, what length screw will I need in order that, once inserted in the clip, 1/2" will be protruding out the back?
