I'm looking for that type of balancing channel, not even Shute if that's the name for it, it's rounded and for a double hung windows, very old.

I am trying to order window balances. My balance rod measures 25 1/2 inches. Do I go with a 26" or a 25" replacement? Mine is a 3/8" Tilt tube - with a white casing. They are for a double hung, double pain, tilt vinyl window.

Hello, the windows in a house I purchased won't stay open (21 of them!). I disassembled one of them and the pivot blocks are shot - spiral balances seem to be ok. I need special 5/8" diameter spiral balances. I believe they were red. From what I understand this is insufficient for a 50lb window. Attached are photos of my existing spiral balance. There is, was appears to be, insulation stuffed up around the spiral balance. I'm assuming that I need to replace this insulation when I replace the spiral balance? Any information on this would be helpful.

The metal casing measures 9/16" thick and 22" long (22 1/4" if orange/red piece included) The spiral rod piece is 23 1/8" long. This house will be listed for sale in the coming days and need the parts ASAP before clients walk the property and open this one window.

Balances are working fine. However, the plastic part that connects the balance to the window guide has failed. We have 9 ea ply gem single hung aluminum windows. They all need tilt balance replacement parts (18 in total). All windows are the same size. So the window will not stay up. I assume the balance has no tension on it because they stay extended and they also do not stay connected to the shoe. So as stated in the subject, how can you tell if the shoe, balance, or both are bad? Thank you, Dale
