82-223 Mortise Lock, Square Face, 3-11/16"

Hello i am in need primarily of the locking mechanism that goes into the door. The handle is intact.

i purchased mortise lock 82-223. (the one on the left). We need the one in the photo on the right. the problem seems to be the orientation of the locking slot.

My patio door handle set isn't locking properly. The mounting holes are 5" apart.

Could you tell me if the vertical latch mortise locks Product Code: 82-223, They are locked in the vertical position , in the un-locked position is the key-way perfectly Horizontal ?

Shown is photo of same door in another room which still had casing intact. Casing for another room missing when we replaced handle and therefore we could not install the locking mechanism for that door. I ordered the door handles from you.. See conversation D55610. Can you help?

This door is a main entry point and lately when locking the door outside by key or inside by latch it does not lock and requires 2-3 attempts to succesfully lock. The latch is loose meaning the small stick which goes up to lock or down to unlock is extremly wobbly and can be pushed more ways than j ... (cont.)

I ordered and received Mortise lock, square face, 3-11/16" part no. 82-223. I had to lightly file the face that fits through the hole in the edge of the patio door to make it fit properly.
