I have 18" x 3/8" balance rods. What type of shoe? It looks llike partially broken off...?

I purchased S900 balancers for this window. I now believe the shoe that the end of the spring attaches to is broken and can not determine how to remove the window to replace the shoe, if it is even possible. As you may determine from the pictures, the window can't move right or left as there is not ... (cont.)

I have 4 windows total and I need replacement springs for all 4 (8 springs total).The sizes seem to be 18" (x4) and 24" (x4). Even those these windows are old, about 1972 with the original building, I'd love to keep the windows and simply replace the springs so the windows can smoothly open, stay op ... (cont.)

I have uploaded pics of my aluminum framed window's channel that shows the slots into which the spiral rod connects. Hello, I purchased 20 springs (S400-34) and 20 brackets (17-043) a few weeks ago and am now trying to install them. Unfortunately, the brackets are not compatible with the springs. The alum window bottom sash has a hollow (three sided) (open towards the bottom) channel running along the bottom. Does the bracket (#25) just snap into that channel with the hook towards the outside and the snap-in (1 inch tall) portion to the inside? There is nothing to screw into on this window w ... (cont.)
