S180-04 4 lbs Series 180 Coil Balance

I believe that I will need the tandem set up using 15-087 and 15-086. The spring has a stamp of 4Y, is this a 4 lb spring? When I install the the two coil housing, I assume that I hook them together and then pull the spring out and run one on top of the other up to the clip. Thanks you. ... (cont.)

This balancing pivot has a US patent number of 5353548

Would this be Equivalent to your S180-4 spring. It's from a small bathroom replacement window. Thanks a million.

No Identifying marks other than US Patent #5,353,548 I have several rentals that have these windows that need the balances replaced. I would like to have a few of these overnighted to me, then have a source to get them from when needed

Purchased 15-087 Coil Housing Pivots, 15-086 Tandem Coil Housing, and S180-4 4lb Series 180 Coil Balances. I just don't know how to put them together correctly or install them in the window.

I just received my coil Balances and I guess I ordered the wrong lbs ones. I got the 3 lbs but they do not keep the sash up... I was going by a number written on the old one (3) thinking that was the lbs I needed. The only thing I see stamped on the old one is 7.09X. My sash measures 22 1/2W x 26 H, ... (cont.)

I have determined following your directions that I need S180 coils to fix my window. Is it unusual for both sets on both sides to fail at the same time? Do the coil housings need to be replaced too, or can they be reused if undamaged? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Yes, the coil sits freely in the housing, clipped to the shoe at the bottom of the channel.
