This balancing pivot has a US patent number of 5353548

4 inches in length, 1 inch wide by 9/16 deep. I picture shows the part separated/broken. The other picture shows the part unbroken. Need to find the replacement parts if they are available. Thank you, Lynn

Hi Swisco, I have a sash with S-180 coil balances. The coils on both sides have broken. They look like they were cleanly cut. The stamp on the coil end is "5Y". Does this mean a 5 pound coil? What does the "Y" mean? The sash measures 21.5" x 21". I believe it is single strength insulated glas ... (cont.)

do you have a balance like the picture, for my double hung vinyl window. My lower window sash will not stay up when opened. THanks Chuck

will be mailing sample of part [ balance ] to designated address. The window weighs 10 lbs. and measures 27 1/2 w X 23 1/4 H and doublw insul glass. Once part has been determined we will order parts for @ 6 windows.We will need the spreaders,as well.

I have determined following your directions that I need S180 coils to fix my window. Is it unusual for both sets on both sides to fail at the same time? Do the coil housings need to be replaced too, or can they be reused if undamaged? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Yes, the coil sits freely in the housing, clipped to the shoe at the bottom of the channel.
