Can I use a stronger stamp than what my sash weight needs?

What would be the result of selecting a balance rated for a heavier sash? For example, what if I am replacing a pair labeled 26 4, which I understand to mean sash weight from 19 to 26 and requires stamp 2640, but choose instead stamp 2650, rated for 26 to 30. Would the sash still raise? Would it be ... (cont.)

Hello, I am researching your products to find an appropriate spring balance for my single hung non tilt windows. The old (broken) part has a stamp on the metal channel that says "26C USB".
