Hi, I have 2 double hung windows (they do not tilt). They are old and solid wood, one does not open and the other does not open well. I removed the window today to understand the spring system, and took some photos. Do you know what type of spring system this is. And if so, do you carry replacement ... (cont.)

No markings. Tube is 3/8" diameter x 25-3/8" long with a 5/16" x 2-7/8" foot. 3/8" tube is wrapped by a coiled spring for 17-5/8" of the length. The coiled spring is 1/2" diameter. Thank you! Jeff

My windows are circa 1960. Below are photos of the size and type currently installed. Since I'm between sizes offered by Swisco, I'm wondering if I should order just larger or shorter than current? Current measures about 30.50 - 30.75".

Hello I am looking to add spiral balances to existing single hung windows that do not have any balances. The moveable lower sash is 29-1/2 " high and the overall window opening is 57-1/2" high. I would like to use series 500 balances. Can you advise me on the recommended length?

Hello, I have windows that I believe are original from the 1950s. Some of them do not stay up properly. They have spring balances. Can I replace these springs to restore them? I can provide more photos if that would help.

Hello, Our church has a service window from the kitchen to the parish hall, both balances hardware connecting the balance to the window have broken, see pic 8008. I am replacing the lower sash of a window as part of a bathroom remodel in a first floor addition to my house. House was built in 1950. There are no markings on window nor the actual spring device. I know I will need to weigh the window in order to determine the spring rate required. Window is a non tilt that measures 22 3/8" high x 41 7/8" wide and weighs approx 12lbs. The spiral tube measures at 21" and is 9/16"(5/8). Has a foot bracket like your #32. Would this require the red or the blue spiral balance for proper lift!Thank you Dan
