Hello, I have a 1996 build year house with what I believe are all original hardware windows. They're incredibly difficult to both raise and lower, so I assume I need to do a full replacement of all spiral balances. First step is getting the things out to ID which replacements I need. Body is 12 in Long 3/8 in tubular and screws in at the top. I cannot seem to find the bottom connector that locks it to the window. Please help me if you can thank you Bill

House Built in 2002. Windows are builder grade, single hung aluminum windows (non-tilt with Spiral balances) I need to replace not only the spiral balances but the top sash guide on multiple windows. Can you tell me how to remove the spiral balances in this window? It is easy to see how to detach the top of the spiral balance. (see picture of top spiral balance connection) But there are no "screwed on" brackets at the bottom of the window which hold the bottom of the spiral balance. (see picture ... (cont.)

We have 10 single hung alum windows with 3/8" tubular spiral balances. The window locks say Jacobson on the window latch. The house was built in 2003 for a couple in their 70's at the time. This window is a General aluminum non-tilt window with spiral balancers. There is no way to remove the sash from the frame. How do I replace the spiral-balance in a window like this?
