Hi Im am trying to ID the white part for a Certainteed double hung upper sash

We're not sure of the age of our windows, moved in in 1984, replaced windows, say 1990, the metal roll on the left side broke, I think the roll on the right side also. The parts removed from a 'Certain Teed' window. On the spring where is mounted with a screw is marked 335 and 336. On the "L" shape plastic bracket marked "Certain Teed' Measurements are 1 1/2 X 7/8 for both parts without the spring. Spring width 3/4.

This is a coil balance spring I need a replacement for two sides. don't know the manufacturer. It is shown in two pieces as it is broken. It has a number stamped into it. 344

The top paine will not stay up. The coil is broken. It has the number 336 J on it. Coil is 3/4" wide. The plastic piece is broken I multiple places. I will need replacements for both sides. Thanks

Hi, I've attached to photos of the spring balances that have broken. I think the numbers on the short spring are 335 SA. The numbers on the long spring appear to be 405 LK. They're 3/4 inch wide. WE have CertainTeed windows in our home and 2 balance springs have broken. We are hoping to get them repaired but the company is out of business and says the parts are no longer available. I can identify the majority of parts, but need help on the second coil balance attached to the pivot shoe. Here is what I have determined: Shoe - 15-192 coil - S171-406 2nd coil - ?? These windows were installed in 1990. The window will not stay up any more. The pivot shoe is the same size as the old style. And the coiled balance spring has the number 335 on it. What spring should I get to replace it? Thank you. Vincent

The coiled balance springs on the upper sash of one of my CertainTeed windows needs to be replaced. The number stamped on the spring is 335. However, following the formula in your DIY guide, "Choose the Appropriate Coil Balance", the result calls for a 6 lb. spring (336 coil balance spring). Whi ... (cont.)
