I have a home built in the late 1930s with Hope's window operators on steel casement windows. Several are not working and disassembly indicates the arm gear is worn down to to lack of lubrication and window sticking. Is it possible to replace the arms? Is it possible to buy replacement operators? I ... (cont.)

Problem with new window crank
I ordered replacement cranks for Andersen windows (part #39-020). After they were installed the gears on several of the cranks stripped on the first use. If the window is pushed open a few inches the gears reengage, but the cranks will not fully close the windows.

Do you Have This Operator
Hi Susan, When we spoke the other day, you suggested that I send you a picture of the wood casement crank mechanism (rather than sending it on to you) that I am trying to replace. If I can't get an entire new one (or several), I could use some handles. Here are some specs: 1) The leng ... (cont.)

Does the 39-020 have removable handles?
Hi, Do the handles come off of these mechanisms to allow for a screen to fit over the window? I have an old cabin (1948) with crank windows that need new mechanisms but the screens which are hinged and built into the window fit flush over the windows from the inside. I think I would need to be a ... (cont.)

Wood window crank
Product 39-020 seems like the proper replacement part but I am concerned about the button on the end of the 9in arm. It has to fit into a track which I measured as 5/8 inch wide. So the button has to be 1/2 inch or just slightly larger. I hope the photos I uploaded will be displayed for you so yo ... (cont.)

Arched Casement windows
I have 2 old arched casement wood windows that are an odd size and no manufacturer will copy. I think I could use an awning scissor-type mechanism and crank to pull them in tight without having to open the screen to pull them in manually from the middle instead of from the bottom. Do you think this ... (cont.)

I am trying to locate window operators (one LH, one RH). I have included some pics. They are 9 inch. The HO has paneled the walls in the room and "picture framed" the windows, so that now the operators are semi-hidden. They have 4 mount screws into stool/sill. Any help is appreciated. ... (cont.)
