Thanks for your help! I have Alcoa single hung windows that have problem spiral balances, either locked up after 6 in of travel or making noise when closing the window. My window is vinyl, single sash, tilt in, 36"x60". Balance length is 27", width about 9/16"" or 8/16". I would like to replace the entire balance. The number on the back is SL 26 5 5/10/05. Appreciate your help.

What is the easiest way to put the window back in using 15-046 pivot shoes.Since the pivot shoe isn't u shape I am having a terrible time getting the pins back in the shoes. Thanks for your help with this issue.

I need several pivot shoes for my Great Lakes windows. Your 15-015 pivot shoe has the correct dimensions, however, the pivot shoes in my windows have a brake so that the window will not move when tilted. I would like to get a pivot shoe that has a brake. The hook on the tilt shoe that holds down the spring loaded balancer has broken on multiple windows in our home. Once it snaps, it shoots the balancer straight through the window casing. Windows have spiral balances and plastic shoes. Some shoes seem to be broken and will not hold the balance in place. The flat end of the balance has two raised bumps that seem to fit above and below the shoe probably to keep the balance from moving vertically once seated in the shoe. windows were in ... (cont.)
