I believe, based on measurements of other similar windows in our home, that this is the part we need but how do we unscrew and remove the broken latch mechanism with the window locked shut or how can we unlatch it without the lever? ... The base "fork-like" part says #9429 40MM. The picture shows the handle & base separate. That is because it broke. The intact handle says HTL on the window part. The lock handle on the right is missing. It appears that lock unit itself is part of the frame. Can the handle be replaced?
