S385-29 29" Series 385 Channel Balance

On the frame of the balance there is a 28B stamped in it.

please provide me with size I need to order 4 sets(8)

The only thing I can find is a stamp on the back. I think it's 28B,or 288

S385-29 seems to be the part I need. However I'm not sure of the stamp option. The metal channel has a 28B stamped on the side. The window it goes to is a single pane, 29X33" window. Any suggestions? Thanks, Scott

I just finished talking with a customer service rep. I am interested in placing an order for a replacement balance bar. The length of the metal from one end to the other end is 29 in long. I have only one stamp on the bar which says 28 C. I believe that is the expansion for the spring. Attached ... (cont.)

I could not identify the correct channel balance from your list. The markings on the balance says 28F the sash weighs 35.5 lbs. It is a non tilt window with a 1/2" wide channel balance 29" long.

28D code on window balance. Trying to determine if 380 part or 385 part

There is no # stamped in my old channel balance the S385-29 looks to be the right replacement- but unsure what to do for the stamp option. Thx David

Hi, I narrowed down my replacement balance to a 29" 385 but the stamp on the old balance is 28 9 C9 Caldwell. I assume the "28 9" relays the weight but I do not see options that high. Any suggestions? Thank you! -Mike

It's 30 inches overall. The 29 inches without the plastic guides. The local supplier wants $15.00 each. I'm looking for a less expensive replacement.

Replacing four 21 year old spring balances on single hung vinyl windows. The cord has broken on two of them and would like to have two spares. The metal channel is 5/8"x5/8"x29" long. Hi, I think I have the correct part number but I wanted to get input and just make sure. Attached are pictures of my balance. It's 1/2" wide and 29" long. The window weighs about 23lbs. 1/2" wide 29" long balances for non-tilt windows. The only description on the part is: 28 9 OJ BSI. Others have: 28 4 OJ BSI.
