My daughter has a BSI2740 window balancer that is out of position(fell down). Before knowing what to do I need to remove the window sash. Can you tell me how to do this? Thanks

I have Bonneville double hung wood windows where the top window balance string has broke so instead of opening the window in the traditional way (bottom window up) I lower the top window down. For some reason, these windows have no take out clips. Very difficult to put back. Any idea what model these are and how to solve installing them without take out clips. Or should I drill a couple of holes to install take out clips
