What is the step down tool used for?

Looking at the 82-008 as a replacement for my DNS 1400 series. With the tooth pointing down, when locked, my locks tooth can be lifted off the keeper. I could shim about a half inch at the top of the door to prevent this. (suggestions appreciated) I'm also wondering if the 82-002 comes in chrom ... (cont.)

Having trouble determining if existing door has removable track cap. Can you confirm if it appears appropriate to plan on simply adding a 1/4" track cap over existing track (or if an old one needs to be removed). Thank you! Doug

I'm looking for a set of replacement rollers for a door on a house I recently bought. It went through a major remodel in the 70s, so I'm assuming that this door was installed then. For CertainTeed sliding windows we need 2 replacement spring-loaded slide-stops for insertion into the lower slide track to prevent full opening. Slide-stops needing replacement are approx 3/8"x 2 3/8" in plan view and appear to be identical (both marked with PAT 4824154) though one shows "B 11079" ... (cont.)

Can I obtain instructions for installing doors (#64564-001)? Watching some youtube videos re: installation and I understand there may need to be a 5/16" (or ?) off-set for the upper (lower?) tracks.

Hi I recently purchased an all vinyl victorian style screen door. No glass insert. I want to know if I can install a standard door closer on this instead of the fast closing spring tension closer that is normally used. I prefer slow closing with kids. Thank you

Windows are Alcoa tilt type and are very hard to open/close. When you get it down all the way (fighting it to go down) it springs back up 3-4". You have to hold it down to be able to close the latch. Can these be adjusted or do the spiral balance have to be replaced? House was built in ... (cont.)

I have determined that the channel balance is a Series 385 in 26" length. The channel has 25 5 GP on the side. I don't know how to pick a spring weight from the numbers on the channel. David.
