Double hung windows - 20 years old. When I unlock the window, the top sash immediately falls approx 4-6 inches on many of the windows. Do I adjust the friction shoe by turning the screw clockwise ? Thank you. Mark

My windows are less than a year old and two pivot bars on the bottom of one window broke. I can't get hold of the installer so do not know the make of the windows.
