I need to replace several broken springs in my windows. Info: Plastic piece 3 inches, screws 1 1/2 inches apart springs 1/2 inch two springs: one has a lable #5, other I could not find the size. windows double pane 31" wide and 32" height windows approx 22 pounds .

Both sides bottom window of double hung window. Coil Balance spring snapped. Removed one side and the only number I could see is " 7.5 " on spring. The rest was unreadable. These limited travel possibly shimming screw posts have a slot for adjusting in and out. The wide face at the other end presses against the rough framing. What are they called ,what is their purpose and why are they in the way of replacing the coil shoe and constant force coil springs? ... (cont.)

I have broken and bent springs on my balances for one window. I can reinstall the balances if I can get the springs. There were two 3.5lb and two 4.5lb springs. The springs say 35". Hello. I had another coil spring break. One of the springs says 3 and the other 4. Is this the weight for each spring. Nothing else is stamped.
