I really like this particular sash stay / window stop, but can't find them anywhere (online or locally). I have a rental where the wood windows are kept open with this stopper. Do you have something similar that will hold the windows open. Some of the windows are missing the part or the rubber stopper is worn out.

I work at a theatre in Texas and we are building a functional sash window for our set. How much clearance on either side is needed for the spring to be able to slide in and have enough tension to hold the window up? We might be looking at using 2, one on each side. I am redoing my windows in my 128 year old home. The glass I replaced in the bottom part of the window is substantially heavier and the weights won't hold the window up. I heard about these springs and want to know if they will work for a 22lb pane.

I installed the 20-001 sash spring on the bottom of my bottom sash(es) because the cord sash opening on the top of the bottom sash was so large that I couldn't attach the nail (there was noting to pund it into). Is the tension spring 20-001 secured at the top of the sash or the bottom of the sash?

I have ordered two 20-001 to install on a window that has broken cords. Do I need to remove the broken cords or can I just leave them?
