I've never seen windows like this before. These plastic guides? or whatever they are called, are on the top edges of all the lower panes. they screw on from the side. We need about a dozen, they probably all cracked because windows were forced when they were not lubricated? PS:

No wings on top or bottom, and the shoe is more than 1" deep. Please confirm that this sash balance is s390 - 27. Note the groove on the top piece.

I am replacing channel balances that have a stamp that reads 26 4 BN Caldwell. It looks like S390-27 will meet my needs as the shoe is 1 1/8 inch. It seems option 2640 is the right choice but my windows only weigh 16 pounds. Should I be choosing the 2630 instead?

Question 1 - My measurement of the channel is 27" . I don't know how to read the stamp on the channel, which reads " 26-5 1X CMC 7. Should I use my measurement of 27".
