The distance is 3 15/16. The key hole needs to be in the center of the 3 15/16. They key hole is centered between the install holes. Look at the broken one I sent you on the handle there is one hole. Enclosed please find images of a 2 point mortise lock that needs to be replaced. First image. The distance I need is 6.5" long for the top and bottom screw holes. Most I've discovered in my search are 7-13/16" long.
