Noisy replacement channel balances
I just replaced my channel balances in a non-tilt window. I ordered the parts based on the stamped number. The window now makes a zippered spring metal noise when I open or close the window. What is going on?

Identify Correct Channel Balance
The 1/2" Channel Balance looks like a 380 or 385. The top guide is certain, but the bottom guide doesn't look like either. The metal part is stamped with B.S.I. and 1010; it is 11" long. The window is 25 years old. I ordered this same part from you a number of years ago, both for this window ... (cont.)
