wool pile weatherstrip for REHAU 772 from 1996
All the weather stripping has become brittle on sashes and screens. I measure 3/16 by 3/16. Is the same size used on sashes and screens or can it differ?

Woolpile weatherstripping images
The storm windows are possibly from the 1960's? The profile of the weatherstripping is very narrow (1/8 " - 3/16") and the depth is hard to determine because it is so worn - maybe an 1/8". I have included images showing an overall half section of a storm window, details of the weatherstripping b ... (cont.)

I just ordered your 58-002 wool pile How do I remove and replace the weather stripping in my aluminum windows? I watched your video on replacing the weather stripping by simply sliding out the old wool pile. However, my mounting channels are welded into mitred corners. What is my removal ... (cont.)

Weather Strip Inquiry
I have used your 58-002 3/16 x 3/16 on many of our storm windows, but one set is different and appears to want 1/8 x 1/8 instead. Does such a thing exist? Any suggestions (other than replacing the windows)? Thanks.. Bill H

wool pile replacement
I recently purchased items number 58-002 and 58-021 for replacement wool pile for my storm windows but it didn't fit. It appears that the original wool pile base was not very thick and sort of looked like a canvas material and that the items purchased would not fit due to the thickness of the base ... (cont.)

weatherstripping
I have Alenco single sash and slider windows from 1992. I measured the wool weather stripping with calipers and got 3/16" x 3/16". The question I have is: because the window is over 20 years old, will the height of the weather stripping wear? Is the weather stripping really 3/16" or could it be 1 ... (cont.)

Wool pile installation
I purchased your 58-002 wool pile. In your video "How to identify replacement weatherstripping" - (when you were showing how to take measurement of a sample piece) it showed the backing as material/textile and not plastic/vinyl. With material/textile it can be installed by inserting one side ... (cont.)

When does this go bad
Just curious. Doing a remodel and replacing some stuff on the windows (tilt latch, shoe, weatherstripping). I notice each window has about 150" of 3/16 wool pile. It appears to be in good condition (clean, intact and not matted).

White version of 58-021?
Hello, My windows are 1999 CareFree windows. They appear to have 3/16 X 3/16 white wool pile. The wool pile seems to have a sealing fin in the center. Do you offer a white wool pile that has the sealing fin or is it only offered in the gray? Does this sealing fin really offer more protection? Mine ... (cont.)

Fin or non-fin seal wood pile?
I am looking for wool pile weather stripping 3/16 inch wide by 3/16 inch high. I found it from your website, with fin seal (gray) or non-fin seal (white). Color is not a matter but I'm wondering if I need a fin or non-fin seal wool pile weatherstrip. Thanks!

I am planning on replacing the pile on my stormm windows. Looks like 3/16 wide will do but not sure about height (3/16 or 1/4). Also should I purchase with or without Fin Seal? Any difference between white or gray other than color? I believe the storms that I have are from Harvey Industries. Thanks ... (cont.)

Need new insulation strips on storm windows.
My customer has 6 storm windows that are leaking and growing mold between the storm window and the window. The whole window is about 3' wide and 6' tall - 2 glass frames per storm window. They were purchased at Sears by the builder in about 1962 - 1964. I understand I will have to dig the s ... (cont.)

What adhesive to use to install weatherstripping?
Tom, I ordered a roll of 58-002 to replace 45 year old weather stripping on some old boat windows in a 1969 Chris Craft. It appears that the old pile, whetever is left, was adhered to the SS end cap on the sliding glass. I realize the 58-002 is not adhesive backed but it is the right size. What ad ... (cont.)

I just bought a home and found one of my windows was missing all of its Wool Pile, I took this sample out of another identical window. How do I replace window weatherstripping?
I've looked for videos online and articles. Thank goodness your video showed up in my search and at least led me to the right resource for materials.
