I think I need the Caldwell 385. The balance has winged top and winged shoe, and the shoe measures slightly more than 1 inch. I'm having trouble locating a sash balance with the same stamp as our window. Ours is stamped 13 3. The metal portion of the balance is 13.5" long.

I think I have identified the sash I need, but would like to confirm. The #s on the sash are 12-4 GG5 CMC 54. They didn't bring up a part. Can you help me? Tamra

I am installing channel balances on a window in a rental unit. The prior balances are not available for reference. What is the best way to measure length for a new balance? Is it a problem if the balance is too short? Thank you.
